The quote stages are an identifier that tell you in 2 or 3 words the current situation with the quote so you can give a proper follow up. Some examples are:
Canceled - Too expensive
Approved - Reserved
Pending - Quote sent
Follow up - Call client
You can create your own stages based on the 5 ACTIONS that Osmos offer:
a) Canceled (When the quote is canceled)
b) Approved (When the quote has been accepted and you can proceed by creating a contract or agreement)
c) Follow up (To follow on quotes)
d) Normal (When there is nothing else to do)
e) Pending (When the quote has not been sent, but it has been created)
WARNING! WHEN YOU EDIT THE STAGE OF THE QUOTES FROM SETUP - QUOTE STAGES, MAKE SURE YOU DO NOT CHANGE THE ACTION TYPE, CHANGE ONLY THE VALUE. IF THE TYPE OF ACTION IS CHANGED, IT WILL AFFECT ALL CURRENT QUOTES AND CONTRACTS. IF YOU DO NOT HAVE ANY QUOTES OR CONTRACTS IGNORE THE WARNING.
EXAMPLE: The action type from a quote is "Approved" and the value is "reserved". If you change the action type to "Canceled" all statuses of your quotes marked as "Reserved" will be modified to "Canceled" even when the value keeps saying "Reserved".
TIP: Having too many different trading status can be difficult to manage. We suggest the use 3 states to cancel, 1 for normal, 1 for Approved, 2 for follow-up and 1 for Hold.
